50,000 objects larger than 10 cm by 2100.
ESA 2023 Space Environment Report
Earth orbits are clogged with space junk, and ESA estimates in its latest Space Environment Report that the low Earth orbit will be congested with 50,000 objects larger than 10 cm by 2100. The presence of space debris jeopardises critical space infrastructure, such as communication satellites, weather monitoring systems, navigation satellites and more.
What actions need to be taken?
Share My Space is actively participating in the first two levels of action through its orbital information systems and proprietary sensors. Share My Space is also gearing up to support active-debris removal services.
